Description
The insert for Parks is regarded as one of the best examples of excellent insert design (and deservedly so!), but it quickly becomes unusable if you sleeve your cards or own either/both of the expansions. If you remove the insert you can delicately arrange the cards and components (including the resource trays) such that they all fit into the original box, but it's a bit messy as the cards will still slosh around and get a bit mixed up. This organizer is essentially a wrapper around that arrangement such that everything stays in place.
The full organizer is split into 3 sections which I'll call the Parks Organizer, the Campfire Organizer, and the Trail Sites Organizer. They have space for all components that have been released for the Parks game (as of this design's posting).
As mentioned, this solution preserves the resource trays that come with the base game (which can hold all resources and photo tokens).
To remove the organizers from the box, first remove the trail sites. Then use the finger holes in the Campfire Organizer to pry it out. From there it should be easy to remove the other two organizers. Under those two organizers is the folded game board, original resource trays, and instructions. Reverse the process when putting everything back in the box.
Because space is very limited, this organizer features many thin walls. I suggest using Arachne wall generation if your slicer supports it. Suggested orientations for printing the models are shown in the pictures. Supports are required for the Trail Sites Organizer. Supports are recommended for the Parks and Campfire Organizers; they can be printed without supports if your printer is able to perform bridging well, but I preferred the peace of mind that the supports offered.
I've used decent quality sleeves for my cards so it is likely that your sleeved cards will fit. The Parks cards are sleeved with GameGenic matte tarot-sized sleeves and all other cards are sleeved with MayDay “Sails of Glory” premium sleeves. I'm sure there are nicer sleeves available that might be bulkier and have larger dimensions, so if you have concerns about this organizer working with your sleeves, try cutting up the models and doing some test prints before printing the entire design.
I've made small usability improvements to the models since printing mine which aren't shown in the pictures:
