Description

Scaled for d20s that are approximately 20mm measured from face-to-face.

I have oriented the d20 to be held with a vertex at the top, mimicking the original bulb's shape. After fiddling with my prototypes, I wasn't sure if I wanted to display the 20 face towards the front of the Bulbasaur or towards the back. So I just made variations for both: “front face" (left model in photos/screencap) and “front edge” (right model in photos/screencap). [Feb. 22, '24: added variation to hold d20 with face up.]

I noticed that my d20s were a bit different in size: the face-to-face measurement varied from 19mm to 20.5mm. The “normal” models are sized for most 20mm d20s, including Chessex d20s. The “larger” size will certainly fit smaller dice, but there may be more of the d20 recess visible. For an example with Chessex d20s, the second-to-last image compares the “normal front face” model on the left to the “larger front face” model on the right.

The prints in the photos were printed with:

  • Silk Rainbow PLA
  • Nozzle: 0.4mm
  • Layer height: 0.2mm
  • No supports
  • 3 walls
  • Infill: 15%

I'm pretty sure 2 walls/lower infill would be fine, even for displaying metal d20s.

Feb 22, 2024: added a pair of models that have the d20 oriented with a face up and a TinkerCad screenshot of the d20 orientation on the bulbasaur's back
