Description

I learned about this game from a friend and started researching.  It isn't widely known in the USA, but I was able to find some games online and decided to model up the game in Tinkercad.  I have other marble games that use five per player, so I went ahead and created this version with five versus four marbles.

Extra items needed:

  • Set of five marbles per player.  18mm or 3/4 size marbles are best.  Larger marbles will touch each other and smaller may roll around too much in the spots.  If you decide to scale down the print to smaller bed sizes, the marble size may vary.
  • Two decks of standard playing cards with each deck having three jokers.  If your card deck only has two jokers, you can use an blank card or insert card as long as it has the same card back.
  • one six sided dice that is used to keep track of how many cards each player gets.

Pieces needed for x players:

  • Four players:
    • print off four of the four person boards (half circle shapes)
    • print off 10 player color markers each in four different colors for a total of 40.
    • print off four player color markers in one color to be used at starting location (I choose a dark green color)
  • Six players:
    • print off four of the four person boards (half circle shapes)
    • print off two of the 6 or 8 person boards (rectangle shapes)
    • print off 10 player color markers each in six different colors for a total of 60.
    • print off six player color markers in one color to be used at starting location for each player (I choose a dark green color)
  • Eight players:
    • print off four of the four person boards (half circle shapes)
    • print off four of the 6 or 8 person boards (rectangle shapes)
    • print off 10 player color markers each in eight different colors for a total of 80.
    • print off eight player color markers in one color to be used at starting location for each player (I choose to use a dark green color)
  • Ten players:
    • print off four of the four person boards (half circle shapes)
    • print off six of the 6 or 8 person boards (rectangle shapes)
    • print off 10 player color markers each in ten different colors for a total of 100.
    • print off ten player color markers in one color to be used at starting location for each player (I choose to use a dark green color)

Once all the pieces are printed, insert the starting location color markers in place on each player board.  Then insert each unique player color markers in place in the starting kennel locations and finish locations on each player board.  I thought the color marker fit was good enough to not need any glue.  If you find the color markers too tight, please adjust the size by 1%.  See pictures for examples of arrangement of the color marker locations.

In the USA, I have found www.MoonMarbles.com to be a great supplier for marbles.

Print settings:
Player boards - .4 mm nozzle, .20mm layer height, 15% infill (I used triangles), 3 walls, and 4 top and bottom layers
Player color markers - .4 mm nozzle, .20mm layer height, and 100% infill

I have not tried to scale down the print files to fit on 225mm beds, but it should work.  If anyone does scale it down, please post what ratio you used and how the fit of the color markers and connections work for your scale down ratio.

Four person player board is 225mm x 250mm x 16mm
6-8 person player board is 250mm x 125mm x 16mm
color marker is 17.9mm diameter x 6.8mm height

Please share your prints and let me know how you like the game.
