Parametric BB-9E Ball Droid
==>Be aware: This is a work in progress!
This design is heavily inspired by James Brutons BB-9E Ball Droid. I do like the ball design he used for this version of the ball droid, but I could not find any designs for it anywhere.
So far I have only designed the ball and printed/assembled part of it.
Printed Parts:
- OneThirdTriangle.stl (24x). I have printed these in PLA with 25% infill, no supports and with 0.8mm nozzle (standing up position).
- RoundTab.stl (24x)
- RoundTab2.stl (8x)
- PanelHalf_Open.stl (4x)
- GridHalf_Open.stl (4x)
- PanelHalf.stl (8x)
- GridHalf.stl (8x) or FakeGridHalf.stl (8x)
Optional Printed Parts:
- GlueJig.stl (1x)
- MillJig.stl (1x)
- MillJig.stl mirrored (1x)
- MillJig2.stl (1x)
- MillJig3.stl (1x)
Remarks:
- Despite the maxium cooling I used for printing the OneThirdTriangle.stl parts, they were still slightly out of shape. I used my milling machine and the mill jigs (MillJig.stl,MillJig2.stl,MillJig3.stl), to fix the shape so that the RoundTab2.stl could be glued in place strongly.
- I used the GlueJig.stl to glue the parts together in the circular shape. (See also James Brutons youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtkGU4E6caA)
- I have first glued the OneThirdTriangle.stl together and after that did plastic weld the parts from both inside and outside to get a very sturdy ball
