Monster Drawers for Mansions of Madness Board Game

After making some smaller bases for the Monsters in the board game Mansions of Madness. (see https://www.printables.com/model/857943-monster-bases-with-id-slot-for-mansions-of-madness ) I was left with all the monster tiles that would normally be installed inside the large bases. The associated App’s monster drawer gave me an idea, to actually design and make a monster drawer to keep the tiles in.

When playing the game you need to sometimes check the text and numbers on the monster tile that relates to the monster in play. So I have also added a second drawer which can be pulled out and placed next to the game board and hold the tiles of the currently active monsters. You can then quickly go though the active tiles to find one you need. Once the draws are removed, the cabinet could even be used as a dice shaker.

I printed the cabinet and draws in PLA with 0.2mm quality and adaptive variable layer height selected to help with dimensional accuracy. The drawers will need support for the runner slots and the handle. I excluded supports for the logos on the front of the drawers as it’s not needed. Getting the supports off of the drawers after printing can be done with the help of a precision flat screwdriver. I had a small piece of support left in the outside top of the slot, which I managed to leaver out with a snap bladed knife. Please take care.  Test the draw fit in the cabinet, if it’s tight check for support material in the slot, if still tight, use a small file or folded sandpaper to clean out the slot. The tolerances are snug, so that you can adjust the fit so they open smoothly, but don’t fall out.
