Slim Card Box (Vase Mode)

There are a lot of models out there to store packs of cards; but if you want something compact to store e.g. a small 18-card print & play game, then it's slim pickings. This model is a very simple, fast, and inexpensive solution (under 14g for the slim version). On the downside, nobody will ever describe this as “rugged”; I can't promise it would survive a backpack trip unprotected, but for storing on a shelf using minimal space, it does the job.

These boxes are intended for normal poker-size cards (2.5"x3.5" or 63mmx88mm). The inside depth is ½" or 13mm for the slim version, ¾" or 19mm for the medium version, and 1" or 25mm for the large version. The slim version is perfect for an 18 card game with instruction leaflet; the medium version will accommodate about 32 cards. I included the large version because it was easy to generate the model, but if you need a box that large then you might want to consider something a bit more solid.

The boxes should be printed in vase mode; I suggest 5 bottom layers for a bit of rigidity. I used a regular 0.4mm nozzle with 0.2mm layer height and default wall thickness. If you have a fast printer, it's a good idea to slow it down for a vase mode print like this to avoid issues with delamination; I printed these at 120mm/s with good results.
