Description

Sky Team swtiches (toggles) upgrades.

Sky team upgrade for the switches of the main board and for the fuel gauge (kerosine marker).

Two styles of switches:

  • Textured: With small dots on the surface of the swithces
  • InversedTexture: With small holes on the surface of the switches

Printing parameters:

Designed to be printed with a 2 mm or 4 mm nozzle (best result with 2 mm nozzle and 0.1 mm layer height). Tested with PLA and PETG (both work perfectly fine).

If printed with 4 mm nozzle select Concentric for the bottom layer, this helps the “wings” print better.

This upgrade is designed to be inserted between the cardboard layers of the playing boards, so you will need to modify your current board to make the upgrades work.

Steps to upgrade the switches:

  1. Print 10 of the standard swithces and 1 of the fuel switch (aka: kerosine marker).
  2. Carefully separate the glued carboard parts (from doing the initial set up) from the main game board and the fuel gauge. For me the best approach was to use a knife and “cut” the glue itself, this approach can damage the board itself (or yourself) so go slow and be carefull. In a best case you have a new copy of Sky Team and do not need to do this step :).
  3. Put the new switches above the green “lights" of the board.
  4. Before applying glue: Do a “dry test”, close the two halfs of the board and ensure everything moves correctly. If something does not fit correctly try printing again with modified scaling.
  5. If everything went great apply glue or double sided tape in the original spots and close the two cardboard halfs.
  6. Enjoy the upgrade with a round of the game :)
