Description
This RC snowcat is powered by two independent motors, each driving one track, allowing for precise skid steering and excellent maneuverability.
The track system consists of individual segments connected by either rubber bands or reinforced fabric tape, providing flexibility and durability while maintaining strong traction on snow. A large front plow is mounted to enhance realism and functionality. It is operated by two standard servos, enabling smooth lifting and lowering of the blade for clearing snow or obstacles.
All components are designed to fit within the build volume of common 3D printers such as the Bambu Lab X1C. The model is primarily printed in PETG for a good balance of strength, flexibility, and weather resistance. The drivetrain uses metal gears for increased durability under load, though nylon printed gears can also be used as an alternative.
