Description

The rule book story:

Patchwork is a form of needlework that involves sewing together pieces of fabric into a larger design. In the past, it was a way to make use of leftover pieces of cloth to create clothing and quilts. Today, patchwork is a form of art, in which the designers use precious fabrics to create beautiful textiles. The use of uneven pieces of fabric in particular can result in real masterpieces and is therefore being practiced by a large number of textile artists.

In Patchwork, two players compete to build the most aesthetic (and high-scoring) patchwork quilt on a personal 9x9 game board.

Printing Instructions:
  • Print each piece once, at 0,2mm height and use a colour change for all them in order to make the readings and the buttons stand out. You can also use different colour combinations to make the game look closer to the original or print the pieces thicker for more rigitidy.
  • Print some small buttons and glue them to your game board and to the back of asymmetrical pieces so that you can easily keep track of the buttons on your quilt.
  • For the game boards required to play I used some old cardboard filament boxes to create them, because I didn't want to waste too much filament on 20*20 solid boxes. You'll need to make two 9*9 grids with 2cm spacing and one 8*8 grid with 2.5cm or more spacing.
