Highway Sign specifically for the 2024 Community Print Drive.

Original design for the 2024 Christmas Community Print Drive.

The “Highway Sign” insert prints flat and is set up for a filament swap for the lettering and border. The “Base” is a separate model, and is adapted from my Simple Stands and Trophies design on Cults3D.

Additional Information and Print Settings

The “Base” model is 104 x 50 x 25 mm. I printed with 0.25 mm layer height, 3 perimeters, 3 top and bottom layers, and 10% infill.

The “Sign” model is 91.4 x 82.0 x 4.4 mm. The color swap for the top is at 3.5 mm height; the lettering/border is 1 mm thick. I printed with 0.25 mm layer height, 2 perimeters, 3 solid top and bottom layers and 15% infill.

To get the texture on the green part of the sign, after two solid layers, I printed with 80% honeycomb infill on the top layer, but this is not required for the toy drive. Also, I changed the top part (lettering and border) to have 1 perimeter to allow more room for the external infill, resulting in cleaner printing of the letters and border. (These are the same settings I used with my Pirate Flag for the 2023 Print Drive.)
