Description
Original design for the 2024 Christmas Community Print Drive.
The “City Bus” prints on its side with no supports. The wheels are NOT able to turn to maintain durability for the print drive. (Rolling City Bus on Cults3D.) Print with one color, a fun filament, or with a couple swaps at key heights for a more detailed look. See notes in Print Settings below.
The smaller "City Bus 40" is large enough for print drive standards. Print more!
For the larger City Bus 60, use the included test model to check whether your printer can handle the long bridging for the windows and doors. If not, print the “Outline” version of the City Bus 60. This one has much easier bridging and should work fine with most printers.
Also see my related models “City Car” and “Flatbed Truck.”

Note: If you prefer the door on the other side of the City Bus (folks that drive on the left side of the street), use the option to “mirror” the mesh across the x or y-axis.
“City Bus 40” is approximately 105 x 45 x 40 mm. “City Bus 60” is approximately 158 x 68 x 60 mm. I printed with 0.25 mm layer height, 3 perimeters, 3 top and bottom layers, and 15% rectilinear infill. For printing with the side colors and stripe details, set filament swaps after the heights as listed below.
City Bus 60: 2 mm, 8 mm, 52 mm, and 58 mm.
City Bus 40: Approx. 1.33, 5.33, 34.67, and 38.67 mm depending on slicer and layer height.
No supports. No raft.
