Bugdroid 2023

In September 2023, Google unveiled an updated bugdroid -- the Android robot.

I found lots of models for the old bugdroid. But, I couldn't find a new one -- so here he is Android fans. I designed this guy in Blender.

The head sits loosely on top, so you can rotate it into any position. I printed it with no support, which left a rough surface on the inside where there are some long bridges. But, it's not visible so I don't mind.

I added a small amount of support under the body. It may not be necessary.

The arms are going to need supports no matter how you orient them. I chose to print them so the rough side would be on the inside of the arms. But this does mean the pins can easily snap.

The arms fit snugly into the sockets, so you can position them however you like.

Finally, I painted the eyes with acrylic.
