Inspiration

Inspiration for this case came from seeing all the cool 3d printed utilities that people bring to my local heroscape club tournaments. Yet none of the dice towers, dice trays, bags of dice/markers, and card sleeves seemed to solve all the problems in a single solution.

So I designed this case. My idea was to copy the shape of a basic heroscape army card. Each object is stackable with the others.

Objects

There are 4 stls. You probably don't need all of them

  • cards.stl - use this object to store your cards between matches OR as a dice tray to prevent your dice from rolling off the table.
  • dice.stl - stores 4 order markers, 1 D20, a few wound markers, and 16 D6 attack/defense dice. Nice little slots for everything
  • older_dice.stl - if you're a fan of the masterset generation 1 dice that separate attack into red dice and defense into blue dice then try printing this object. It accomodates an additional 4 D6 dice for a total of 20 dice.
  • lid.stl - cap it all off with a slick heroscape logo

Also included is the fusion 360 source file. You can customize the user parameters to fit custom dice sizes and counts.

The bottom of each object has an embedded skull image taken from the attack dice to match the top logo taken from the defense dice.

Print Tips

I was able to print this on my ender 3 pro without supports.

I added a small gap in the joints between objects to ensure they smoothly fit together without wiggle. This gap can be customized to meet your printer tolerances by changing the user parameters in the included fusion 360 source file.

The logo on the bottom requires some long bridges, my crappy printer was able to do it though. I figure its on the bottom of the piece and won't get much attention anyway.
