Sure.t Nerf Mod Talon Mag - Fully Printable - Quick Assemble/Disassemble

I wasn't completely happy with the mag from FreddyZ, so I took the super nice bottom mechanism and follower from their model and put them on the sure.t mag (horizontal print version by thunkar). The end result is a really nice, completely printable, no support, no brim, talon-style nerf mag.

The bane of all printed spring mags.

The 6 dart 114mm mag and 8 dart 146mm mag work great, I haven't had issues with either of them. The 6 dart mag is easily my favorite, since it makes complete use of the follower cutout to store the spring completely inside when its full, very space efficient.

Technically the 186mm mag can fit 12 darts, but with printed springs you can really only get 10 in there. The springs I printed also weren't strong/long enough to keep tension on the final dart after a couple uses, so I really don't recommend the 186mm mag if you're using printed springs.

Printing:

Print everything but the spring in whatever you want (I used PLA), BUT! You need to print the spring in PETG! (or PPA-CF, which is even better but $$$)

I used 0.2mm layer height for everything and 10% gyroid infill.

Per-mag you will need one of each of the following:

• bottom_cap
• bottom_plate
• follower_short
• spring (printed or not)

Assembly:

First you need to clip the small tab off the bottom of the mag (this makes sure the opening prints well).

Next, insert the non-flat end of the spring into the follower, and put the follower+spring into the mag with the more gentle slope at the back of the mag.

Now put the bottom_plate on the bottom of the spring, push it into the bottom of the mag, and slide the bottom_cap in place.

Spring stuff:

I've included a couple of pre-sized printable springs for the 114mm and 186mm mags, but they might be too weak/strong depending on your brand of PETG. I'm using Bambu Labs clear PETG and these springs are perfect after they settle (takes a few hours of being compressed).

IF you have the option to print them in PPA-CF,  DO IT! The rigidity of that material is perfect and makes the springs retain their shape incredibly well, allowing you to cut them shorter and get more travel out of them. Keep in mind, with the cost of PPA-CF you might just be better off buying some proper springs.

The spring for 114mm mag just fits completely inside the follower when fully compressed.

You can also choose to use the regular springs recommended for the original sure.t model, they will work with the follower for the printed springs, or with the "pusher" from this model.
