TCG Playmat Tube

This storage tube fits standard neoprene-backed fabric playmats 610x350mm (approx 24x14") such as those sold by UltraPro, Ultimate Guard, GameGenic, and others.

The two halves are identical apart from the latch section.

Printing Notes

• The provided STLs require a 0.8mm wall width. This is achievable on a 0.4mm nozzle but YMMV.
• This is a vase mode print.
• I've used PLA for my prints, but other materials should work well too.
• The 3mf project file includes the settings I use to print these on my Bambulab P1S

Customizing

I've included the playmat_tube.scad source file to aid in producing customized versions of this model. You'll need a development snapshot build of OpenSCAD as the most recent ‘stable’ version is from 2021. I use 2024.04.08 but the most recent development snapshot from here should be fine: https://openscad.org/downloads.html#snapshots

All the variables for resizing the tube are available in the customizer panel. The most basic are height and major_radius which change the overall height and thickness of the tube respectively. Increasing sections will add a middle section, letting you achieve the same final length with a smaller print volume. You can change the wall thickness too, but i don't recommend going lower than the default 0.8mm as, for PLA at least, it results in a flimsy final product.
