Description

For my chessboard, I use these chess pieces. They are slightly smaller than the original (86%).

All the pieces, including the knight, can be printed without any support.

Additionally, there is a recess in the bottom part of each piece for a 10x3mm neodymium magnet, which can be used optionally.

Chess pieces height and base width in mm:

  • King: 79.1 / 28.1
  • Queen: 67.9 / 28.1
  • Bishop: 60.2 / 25.1
  • Knight: 54.1 / 25.3
  • Rook: 47.3 / 25.1
  • Pawn: 43.0 / 25.1

Printing information

All STL files are correctly aligned.

In addition to the STL files for each individual chess piece, I have included an STL file for a complete set.

Layer height: 0.20
Infill: 100% (solely to give the pieces more weight)
Support: none
Optional: Print pause at layer #23 (4.60mm) to insert magnet.

During printing, you can insert a magnet into the designated slot when you pause the print.
If you choose to do so, the magnet must be secured with super glue before you resume printing. Otherwise, the magnet will be pulled out by the metallic nozzle when the print head passes over it again. Take your time during the print pause. Your printer will wait patiently.

I am looking forward to your Makes! :-)
