Description

I have seen many posts for Infinity Cubes, sometimes with different sized cubes or chamfered/rounded corners and even different pivot designs.  I’ve tried printing/using a couple.  While I like the idea of “print in place” this particular design always has unsupported surfaces and often has pivots that bind.  So, I’ve redesigned this to have separate Pivot Links.  This does a couple things.  One, there is no large time penalty to print the Pivot Links and Cubes in different colors.  Two, the pivots have little friction.  This makes this item truly a fuss free fidget toy.

Notes:

  1. I embedded notes into pictures
  2. Print cubes with supports for notched area on bottom (see pic)
  3. I printed all the Infinity Cubes pictured in PLA
  4. Pivot links require no supports.
  5. I provided STL, 3MF of individual parts.
  6. I wanted to provide two 3MF files (1 with 8 cubes, 1 with 8 pivot links) with print settings I used in Bambu Studio but, Printables isn’t allowing me to upload the files (must be a Bambu thing?).  Oh well
  7. I printed these on Bambu X1 Carbon with standard settings.

I really liked how the latch in the Pivot Links worked out.  Provides connections strong enough for typical use, gives a interesting look to the Pivot Links and having separate parts makes for some striking color combos with no print time penalty. Enjoy
