Description

This is a compilation of parts I've made and borrowed for adding Wade / Greg style extruders to the Eventorbot 3d printer. This printer normally has a direct drive extruder and a lack of torque even from large motors prompted me to move to geared filament drive. The adapter brackets are designed to use standard size RepRap Wade style extruders. The following original parts are included:

  • Single Extruder mounting bracket
  • Dual Extruder mounting bracket
  • Bowden tube (pneumatic fitting) adapter for PEEK tube style extruder (2 screws)

A standard Greg type extruder built from scratch (includding hobbed bolt etc.) should work great using one of the brackets. But for those who got Eventorbot kits from Kickstarter, it may be convenient to use the MK7-style hobbed gear included in the kit. For that I have included files for the following:

  • Modified gears to use 5mm bolt based on "Greg's Accessible Wade Herringbone Gears"
  • Modified idler with guide and optional pneumatic fitting for guide tube based on "Taylor's Greg's Wade Extruder"
  • Unmodified extruder body for 5mm bolt and hobbed gear from "Taylor's Greg's Wade Extruder"

These designs may not be perfect but they work and I am open to suggestions to improve them. I hope some Eventorbot owners find these helpful!
