The Space Occupier

Does your house have far too much empty space for its own good? or is it just missing some large 'thing' in the corner? if you answered yes to either of those, then this tripod lamp should be right up your alley.

This massive structure that now dominates my study is most delightful and if you fancy making one too, it's really rather easy. and only needs a handful of non-printed items.

So far i have used:
3 off 12x21x2400mm wooden battens (each cut into 3 off 800mm long bits)
3 off M3x15 cap screws
3 off M3x25 cap screws
6 off M3 full nuts & washers
an Ikea pendant bulb holder that came with the lampshade.
a plug
2m of pretty wire
some cord to tie the legs together

Printed parts
1 off hub
3 off leg to hub
3 off leg top
3 off leg bottom
6 off leg cams
6 off packers (for the cams to press against so you mess up the wood too much)
(i have kindly included the inventor files and .STEP files of all the bits as .stl files aren't much cop, to me at least)

(now, if you don't use an ikea pendant lampshade with a free bulb holder thing that's meant to hang from the roof, I believe that you could use a bulb holder sort of like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brass-Safety-Switch-Holder-Shade/dp/B007MPBSTI/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1446165781&sr=8-13&keywords=bulb+holder
and a length of M10 threaded tube like

You will then need to reduce the hole in the printed 'hub' part to suit whatever you use.
If you go for a metal option, you will need to use 3 core wire in order to earth the metal holder.)

Assembly is pretty self-explanatory so long as you have cut the bits of wood to all the same lengths

Please note that i take no responsibility if you're stupid enough to electrocute yourself, it's dodgy stuff this electric malarkey.

UPDATE 1
I've added a top hub that takes a brass bulb holder with a 50mm long threaded tube to hold it on. you will have to drill a couple holes in the tube for your wires to the switch to feed through.
oh yeah, the hub also has a void inside to take a pull chain switch coz who doesn't want that!!
