Description

This is a for a rotary damper /fan design to be used with the open source Heatermeter project, and based on Ralph Trimble's designs, and one located here ... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1048999

It uses a less expensive Suno 12V 50mm Blower (may fit other brands, haven't tried) and a Tower Pro MG90S servo.

The fan can be found here.

UPDATE: I've added another option for the top case and damper with 3 holes instead of one, increasing the overall cross-sectional area of the intake. This also reduces the amount the servo needs to move to go from full open to full closed. Don't know if this will affect the overall resolution, but will just have to give it a try. Also, you may need to remove one of the flanges of the servo to keep it from protruding past one of the holes.
