Description
Installed the z-braces mod by Azza but (still) dealing with the upmost annoying sounds 3D printing brings along? Try these! :)
Inspired by the impressive results I obtained when using this thing on my Folger Tech. Kossel 2020: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1313461
It's basically the same geometry with some cut-outs to snuggly fit Azza's z-brace mod, see photos.
/Update June 2016: Some people had issues with the dampeners "collapsing" within a couple of weeks. Possibly due to some problems with the filament. I added a reinforced version of the dampeners now: 25 mm depth (from 20 mm), and 15 mm spacing in between the upper and lower part (from 12 mm). Should give quite some tolerance if you have problems.
My recommendation: If you print in PETG or ABS, use the standard version. If you use some cheap'ish (Esun, Hobbyking etc) PLA filament, use the reinforced version (...reinforced.stl). Have fun! :)
/Update Sept 2016: DI3 Plus? Just use the reinforced ones, they fit (Thanks Joemadd3n! :) ).
/2nd Update Sept 2016: Added a video! :)
/Update Oct 2016: Worried about the side to side wobble or sagging of the y frame? Use teknikk7's additional middle dampeners: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1800476
