##I have released:
Belted Extruder v4##
---
Belted Extruder V.3 for 1.75mm
There are 3 versions here.
Two for m6 thread push-fittings (with and without support) and one for 1/8BSP thread.
I have made a
Belted Extruder V.3 for 2.85mm as well.
If you are looking for a direct-drive (still geared with belt) I have made a
Direct-Drive Belted Extruder 1,75mm V2 compatible with Prusa.
Brackets etc.
Everything for my Belted Extruders, including Mounting brackets can be found in the my Collection:
Belted Extruders by Dintid.
----
- You do not have to open idler to load filament, which makes it very easy to change filament!
- Silent running due to belt operation
- Higher accuracy and longelevity due to aluminium gears instead of printed gears.
- Build in mount points on 3 sides. Compatible with standard Nema 17 brackets - 31mm mount hole distance from center to center.
- I have succesfully printed using Shore D40 and D60 Flexibles, where number denotes softness. Pure Ninjaflex (shore A 85) does not work due to bowden.
* Read wiki: Shore durometer if interested.
##Details##
- I use a 60-GT2 aluminium pulley to avoid inaccuracies and avoid wear and tear of printed gear.
- I am using a 16-GT2 Pulley for my small gear, which gives a ratio of 1:3.75
- If you use a 20-GT2 Pulley for small gear you get ratio 1:3
- Belt needed 172mm/86 teeth - 188mm/94 teeth
- A Nema 17 motor - I use a small 0.9 steps pancake motor.
- Belt is tightened by sliding motor away.
- Strongly advice you to buy Hobbed Bolt from E3D - you can also buy it from Filastruder if that is easier for you.
- Push-Fitting with m6 thread
- With 32 microstepping and normal 1.8 degree Nema, the steps are about 1100mm/s filament, so ultra high definition and high torque
##BOM##

- 16GT-2 or 20GT-2 Pulley

- 3x 608 bearings. 8x22x7 - Type doesn't matter.

Nema 17 used
I am using Nema 17 "pancake" as in flat model.
Manufacturer Part Number: 17HM08-1204S
0.9deg Nema 17 Stepper Motor 1.2A 11Ncm/15.6oz.in 42x42x20mm
It's plenty to drive this, and I am currently using it to pull filament from a huge 2.3kg roll of filament.
You can ofcourse use bigger motors, but I rather like this model for it's compact size and great accuracy.
I found it on german ebay.
