Description
v1.2, Monday 7 November 2016
This is an advanced prototype of a (full-parametric, customizable) extruder for plastic pellets that can work for common 3D printers, improved from our previous work: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1689212
The parts have to be 3D-printed out of metal (Aluminum and/or stainless steel) by a professional printing service, some can be milled or made with a CNC, and other parts have to be added (stepper motor, couplers, screws, nozzle, fans, flanges, thermistor and heating elements, etc.... Anyway, this prototype can also be printed in plastic (ABS, PLA, PET...) and it may be usable for extruding "soft" pellets (chocolate granules? Play-Doo, wax, ...), without a heating system. We have partially tested it, but more tests and improvements will follow. But will post here the results and any improved version of the design.
