Monoprice Select Mini Heated Bed Repair/Upgrade

This is a video of my repair/upgrade to the Monoprice Select Mini heated bed. I have had issues with the wires under the heated bed wearing out, getting stuck and chaffing on the belt. I decided to solve these issues by rerouting the wires externally in flexible conduit.

I used 18awg High Flexibility Silicone wire for the heating element, 24awg speaker wire for the thermistor leads and some wire conduit material to encase it.

I also used some cork to insulate the bed. This has really stabilized the bed temperature. I used Kapton tape to secure it to the bed instead of stuffing foam board under it. This way I don't have to worry about the foam putting pressure on the bed and distorting it as there is still an air gap under the cork.
