Blasthook Gunship (28mm)

I have been looking for a proxy for a long time and decided to make my own :

Here is the final version of my proxy : I called it BlastHook

It was modelled all freehand, only based on pictures. It still has some differences. Nearly everything was designed with Meshmixer. I borrowed some parts here and there (engine intake, missile launchers, space marine...)

It should be correctly scaled for 28mm, as I placed a 28mm soldier inside.

Features :

• Engines can rotate vertically
• Front autocannon can rotate horizontally
• Side weapons could be changed, if necessary
• I modelled a cockpit internal detail, with a 2nd ed Space marine inside (thx Garin).
• And the tail has a retractable landing pad inside
• A 6mm hole under the main hull, for a base

All in all, it is pretty easy to print, some parts need supports (only from print bed). Choose orientations wisely.
Assembly is really straightforward; on the body assembly i included some square locating pins that will help position parts together.
The canopy is tricky to print, I made mine by printing the part unfold; fold the different faces, and glue on small spots. It needs some transparent plastic sheet to have a glass effect.

Sorry for the heavy files, I am not very efficient with meshmixer, and meshes tend to be very dense.

I had a great time working on this Gunship, the result is worth the time spent on it.
