Description
!! I designed this 2 years ago with the intention of making a complete assembly guide, more support, etc. I am now at university without my drone and I don't think I'll get around to it for some time, so I'm just going to publish it now. Please be aware that files may change and the design isn't perfect. Feel free to contact me with any questions and I'll do my best. !!
The Skyblade v2.0 is a quadcopter frame designed for strength, lightness, and customization. After the first Skyblade, I wanted a slightly larger frame that would be able to hold a small 3 axis gimbal for aerial video. This is the culmination of about a year of iteration. It uses carbon tubes for the main structure of the frame, and customizable plates to hold components. The plates are held on with zip-ties, but they aren’t stress bearing so it shouldn’t matter. It is a very rigid and lightweight base for a quadcopter.
Specs
Flight Time: 15m (with 3S battery, longer with 4S but untested)
Weight: 1370g
I would love for the community to get involved in designing more plates and motor mounts, as I only have so many components to test with. I have created a base model for the plates which can be downloaded in many formats and modified. If anyone wishes to use a motor other than the type I used, feel free to comment your motor type and the space between the mounting holes on it and I will upload a new design for that motor. Or download the Fusion 360 file and do it yourself :)
