Panel Model: GIK Acoustics 242, 24" x 48" panel (62 cm x 122 cm)
Weight: 8 lbs (3.62 kg)
These brackets will allow you to mount your GIK Acoustics panel (or any similarly framed panel) to the ceiling. They will be mounted with a gap of exactly 4" from the back of the panel to the ceiling.
Instructions:
- Mount each printed bracket to the panel as shown. I used 1 1/4" Construction screws to screw the brackets into the frame of the panel.
- Drill a hole in your ceiling where you want your first bracket to go. I used 3/16th x 3" toggle bolts (Model # 803732 / Internet #204273387 / Store SKU #125459 at Home Depot). I used a stud finder to avoid drilling into the stud, since toggle bolts mount to drywall.
- The holes should be exactly 23 inches (584 mm) apart. Mark and drill your second hole there, again using a stud finder to verify there is no stud there before drilling.
- Thread your toggle bolts through the holes on the bracket and push them through the holes in the drywall ceiling.
- Tighten toggle bolts down, being careful not to flex your bracket too much. If the brackets are flexed laterally too hard they can break due to the long panel providing a lot of leverage.
