Description
After much consideration, i determined with my newfound tools ( 3D Printers) i could vastly improve on the socket rods available to me at hardware stores, both in price, and use case. The main advantage of this system is it's expendability, break a socket holder? print ten more. Break a rod? print three extra. Since each part consumes a low filament mass, huge quantities become an advantage, throw some in a bag at the bottom of your tool box, and go.
Some of the things Ive found over my testing months- use two different filament colors. Designate one for Metric sockets, and the other for Imperial, that way, a quick glance in your box will allow you to at least grab the right general range, because each rod should be in order of size.
