Medical disclaimer - Use this tick removal tool on your own responsibility - it is provided "as is" with no acceptable claims.
Removing ticks is a challenging thing...
If you use tweezers/pincers chances are that you tear the the tick leaving a part of it in your/your pet's body or wreaking havoc while extracting it.
If you follow all medical advice you should never use oil/glue or any substance suffocating the tick since the dying animal may again spill some of its gastric contents in the bite resulting in a fair chance of infection.
The most elegant yet efficient way to get rid of a tick is using a split hook and grabbing the fiend between the skin and its head with a shoving movement.
A gentle twist of the hook will ensure just enough torque to release the tick from the skin - normally leaving the animal intact and alive - you may enjoy your own ritual of getting rid of it.
Here you see the momentary iteration of my design for a tickhook/ticktwister.
I designed it in TinkerCAD from scratch to meet all my demands.
The design presented here should be considered work in progress. Every time I come along with an improvement I'll update it.
