Rotary Vallejo Paint Organiser

This is my take on a storage for my Vallejo paints. I wanted it to store as much as possible with a low footprint in my shelves. Although it should be still easy to search and access. So the idea was to create a rotary storage with multiple levels. I also wanted to have it sturdy enough but using minimal amounts of material.

It turned out, that the idea I had for the design was nearly impossible to print without stuff breaking. I did a lot of iterations and had to come up with some kind of trick, to make it print. I literally used up a full roll of filament on my two printers (cartesian + delta) before I could settle with a reproducible working result. It uses some fine adjusted custom "supports", which need to be removed after the print. They are not meant to print 100% clean, but to give enough support to the main body, that it does not break while printing. If you separate shells, you can delete them and try if you can print it without (I could but not reliable).

The way I choose to have it rotating is still experimental. But it works pretty well for me. I still plan do design a version which uses a bearing instead or combined with the "rail" version which is used for now. To help it rotate / glide better I used some PTFE spray.

The bottom part sits on a part of anti skid "feet". The levels and the lid is glued together with superglue.

I made two level versions for matching my shelve. I think three level is the max for stability.

Currently I have versions for 9 x "small" (25mm) and 6 x "medium" (36mm) paint bottles. These are the sizes my Vallejo paint bottles came in.
