Decorative Butterfly

I needed a butterfly which had butterfly wing patterns but which was solid so I could print it in a smaller size without running up against resolution issues. Designed in Photoshop and Illustrator using a butterfly illustration from a book created by 17th century female insect illustrator, and early feminist, Maria Sibylla Merian. The basic butterfly shape was taken from Metamorphosis insectorum Surinamensium, Plate LX. 1705, though the actual wing pattern is not from the illustration and designed freehand by myself.
