Description
This is a bracket used to install an MKS Gen L and a Raspberry Pi (3 B) inside a Wanhao i3 Plus printer.
This is not a simple, drop in replacement, so I can't recommend it unless you are comfortable soldering and rewiring your printer.
Contrary to what some people say online, the MKS Gen L will indeed fit inside this printer. Its a tight fit, but it works. However the USB port is blocked, so you'll need to deal with that. I considered cutting a new hole in the side of the chassis to access it, but decided ageist it (note, you won't be able to do this with my bracket because the mast is in the way). Instead, I ended up de-soldering the USB port from the MKS and soldering a USB cable directly to the board. This isn't always the best idea, but since I also installed a Pi inside that the USB cable plugs into, it shouldn't move around much so it should be fine in this case.
Powering the Pi is a bit hard if the micro USB cable you are using has a long head, since you don't have a ton of room. To combat this, I ordered a right angle micro USB extender off AliExpress.
