Description
My dad was recently gifted an HTC Vive VR set for his birthday. Today, he downloaded a free virtual clay modeling software. So I tried my hand at it. My vision was some kind of creature that any sane person would run from if seen in the pitch-blackness of night (or brightness day). As a kept sculpting, the extremely intriguing creature began to formulate out of thin virtual air. I spent a little less than two hours lost in my own world. The sculpting process included scooting around on my back (on the carpet), squatting, sitting, lots of standing, and plenty of reaching. My challenge to you it to 3D print this. You can slice it up, enlarge it, shrink it, ect. I would love to see how this can be printed. I believe that this could make a pretty interesting board-game creature. I hope you enjoy the model. Happy Printing!
I have the original file that is over 100 megs. If anyone wants it, I'll try uploading it.
Update 1/31/2019: It turns out that it is not a very challenging print when done upside down with an SLA printer. I will finish curing it, clean off the supports, then paint it.
Update 1/31/2019: I finished the paint on him, and uploaded some more pictures. The sad news is that I pick up up so delicately that I occasionally drop it. This dropping has caused the loss of about 13 toes/fingers.
