Can't remove an obscene comment from a troll, so I deleted the earlier post and re-upload again without an English title.
This 毽子 is a traditional Chinese exercise/game, mainly played by kids and it is played the same way as kicking a hacky sack. There are many ways of making it and the materials used can range from feathers, papers to plastics, etc. I like the feather, because it looks nicer. The base was made a bit larger, so that my kids can hit it easier. The total weight in general is 5~15g and some competition ones are over 20g. For the beginners or kids, the lighter the better, because it will drop down at a slower speed with enough feathers. The downside for that is it requires more effort to kick it higher. The feathers are delicate, so try to pick up from the straw stem or the base to avoid damages. The print time is very minimum, less than 30 minutes.
Materials
Feathers(fits 4~8 feathers, Got 14g for $2 at the Michaels, but most craft stores should have it)
Straw(ID ~5mm, OD ~5.4mm)
Scissors
Glue gun/hot glue
Liquid slow drying glue (White glue, wood glue, etc)
I tried several large washers I have and the measurements are listed below. You only need to print the base and one optional cap of your washer size, only the ID is important.
ID 13.7mm OD (38mm) Thickness 1.2mm : The yellow one in picture, 13g, no cap
ID (7mm) OD 31.8mm Thickness 1.3mm : A bit lighter ~ 12g with cap
ID (9.5mm) OD 22.7mm Thickness 1.5mm : ~9g with cap
ID (8.5mm) OD 15.9mm Thickness 0.9mm : ~5g with cap
