Description
Trolley bearing for a length of unistrut. I could not find anything similar for retail anywhere. Can get a trolley for superstrut (and expensive at that) but not for unistrut.
Designed this for a DIY panel saw. It's been in operation for a little over a year now and has shown no signs of sagging or deformation. And if it starts, at this point I'll probably just print another set rather than go back for a redesign.
It uses good ol 608 skateboard bearings, a bunch of them, so all those bearings you bought for fidget spinners that are sitting on your shelf unused can find some life again.
Rest is 5/16"-18 bolts and nuts. Nothing fancy, I usually just buy cheap zinc by the pound from Tractor Supply. I think these were 2-1/2" but don't recall, I eyeballed it to whatever seemed the best length (not too short but not so long I'd have to cut off excess).
My final parts were printed in PETG for strength over time. I've had problems with PLA supporting weight over time and this will need to support a bit - although it was designed strategically so the support was in the right spots in the part.
I posted this on reddit last year, here is the imgur gallery that has a little more details: https://imgur.com/gallery/bHxAp
Designed with Sketchup, which was a dumpsterfire of an app for a design like this, Fusion360 would have been a much better choice had I known it at the time (and is the only thing i use now).
