Description
Just like Adam Savage, we've tried the PaperMate Sharpwriter. He loves them, we're kind of "meh" because the fit and finish is... rough. The lead wiggles, which drives us mad. That said, we have boxes of them and scatter them throughout the shop.
To make them even more useful we whipped up this pressure-fit mount and CA or epoxy it on to everything--our tools, our desks, etc. are covered liberally with them so there's always a pencil. The one really nice thing about the Sharpwriters is that they're cheap and refillable.
These are specifically sized to the Sharpwriter--they won't hold a regular wood pencil or most pens. You can either scale the STL to fit your instrument of choice, or heat gently and bend the pressure-applying "wing" to hold regular pencils no problem.
