Description
I wasn't happy with the drag chains that I printed before for my Ender 3, the hinges didn't feel nice, the print never looked good, then I decided to make my own version using different concepts. After several tests and prints, I finally achieve a design that looks nice and works smoother.
If you are interested in making remixes for other axis, you can download the .SLDPRT(Solidworks file), there are a lot of people who are interested in printing this chain links for other axis, you can make it happened! So if you are into this please make a remix and share it!
For other axis you can find this awesome design made by @Tobi0892

The hot end part is supposed to snap in place, the distance between axis is 40mm, if yours isn't like this, check this remix made by @robschwieb https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4176101
If your Ender 3 comes with a screw that holds the spring in the extruder, just print the file "support-2_remix_for_newer_extruder_spring_screw.STL". Thanks to @mikemyers0211 who warned me about this model.
I used 14 links for my Ender 3, maybe yours need more or less, that's on you.
Something that you should have in mind, with this cable chain setting, you lose some Z-axis space.
Update 05/26/2020:
Added a support file for the carriage wheel with 50mm distance. File: support-1 - 50mm
Update 07/02/2022:
If you want a fully flexible chain, assembly the chain links alternating faces.
This idea is from @MKCAMC, check his print assembly here: https://www.thingiverse.com/make:1042545
