Description
*** This is a hobby project, and even though it works fine for me, using this mount is at your own risk, especially if using outside. This mount will not protect the camera in any way from wet weather, heat, cold or humidity ***
This is a very compact offset corner mount for the WYZE Pan Tilt Security Camera and can be used to mount the camera upside down. It allows the camera to see about 270 degrees around corners. This mount is very handy when you only have one camera and need it to cover large areas. This mount uses a standard Tripod mount size, so it may be able to be used for other things too.
To use this mount, it needs a hex bolt that is 1/4 inch diameter shaft by 20 threads per inch and exact length of 1/2 an inch for the shaft. I bought mine at True Value (I highly recommend a bolt that will not rust if using in a damp / wet area or outside.) See the photos for exact dimensions of hex bolt. You will also need two screws, I used Sheetrock screws to attach It to a corner stub wall (Please see photos.)
When the part is printed (takes about half an hour with 20 percent infill) take your Hex Bolt and screw it from the wrong side to clear the hole. When done put it in the other way as far as it will go. Then align the head to the mount and press it in place (I designed this to be tight) if you cannot push it in all the way, place the bolt head down on a strong hard surface and press the mount down until the head is flush. Then screw the mount onto the camera until it is tightly in place (not tight enough to damage the motor,) you should now be able to see where the USB power port is. Depending on alignment, you may need to use a large thin washer to get the power cable position you desire. Remove the mount from the camera and install (you may want to use a pilot drill (be careful and avoid any wires or pipes.) You can now screw your camera on until it is firmly in place.
