Description
The bus terminal in Ridgewood, New Jersey, was designed by the mid-20th-century modern architect J. Robert Gilchrist (d.2008). He was a prominent in Bergen County and identified the modest shelter as a favorite project. In an obituary in The Record, his son, John, said that at the time the bus shelter was built, "it was very architectural and stylish. ... When you do a small building, it can approach perfection. You don't have to make all the compromises, and you get it just the way you want it."
