GOOD PRINTING ALL!!
Please welcome my Version one (V1) and Version two (V2) of my Star Wars Episode 1-3 Senate Guard Set! (Yes, the Royal guard/ Royal blue Smerf guard).
These guards DID NOT get enough screen time as they are only seen for 5-10 seconds at a time in Ep. 1 and Ep. 3. They protect Queen Amidala and the other senators though out the prequels.
The "Mohawks" are interchangeable with both V1 and V2 helmets and are attached with screws (I use a short wood screw).
The Ep. 1 "Hairy Hawk" is a pain in the butt to do, but I have linked a Word doc tutorial on how I accomplished mine (It's been working VERY well for Four plus years now, so it's a good way). Don't let it discourage you, it's just $10 of synthetic hair, WIG hairspray, and a lot of time! Totally worth it in the end though.
My personal helmets made from this print and both variations have been approved in Rebel Legion and the 501st.
(V1) is ONE Piece and will slip over your head. It can be a bit of a snug fit through the neck, so measure wisely! (I wear a 7 1/4 inch hat and am probably the largest you'll want to have to fit in the V1 without resizing. So, if you've got a bigger noggin, go to V2)
(V2) has a removable face shield (This is the way the original prop helmets did in the movies, but instead of Velcro, I added Magnet holes to make it easier) and will fit even the largest of heads more accurately because there is no neck funnel! The V2 is equip with holes for magnets and pin points to help align the shield in place.
Episode 1 Mohawk is a trench design, while Episode 3 is a "filled in" version. Both mohawks fit the helmet and are simply attached with 2 short wood/sheet rock screws.
Episode 3 helmets will need to be fit with a molded plexi-glass shield. I just placed a 1mm thick piece in the oven until pliable, placed it in the helmet, squished it down, trimmed the excess, and sprayed it with a transparent "model car tint".
INSTRUCTIONS ADDED FOR EP.1 HAIR HAWK!!! (See Word Doc)
I have worked on perfecting this helmet for the past 4 years. With many trial and error prints, it is finally ready for you to try on! DO NOT BY ANY MEANS sell my Files. These are by a fan FOR THE FANS!
This STL is not for sale or should ever be for sale IN PRINT OR IN RECAST. Help others by printing it for them and please don't overcharge for your services. I love what the Thingiverse community, as well as the Star Wars (Pre-Disney) has done to help me succeed and I hope that this can help you too.
P.S. Please ONLY link these files from this site only and give credit where it is due!
