Pimax Comfort Mod

This is a DIY mod for the Pimax 5k and 8k series inspired by the Pimax "Comfort Kit". It spreads the weight of the headset over a larger forehead area to make it more comfortable.

There are two versions: normal and narrow face.

You will need to make a larger foam gasket for it than the pimax comes with.
I used a sheet of memory foam cut to size and glued it to the comfort mod.
The memory foam I used is 1", but not very dense so it compresses easily.
A thinner foam might work better depending on the type of foam you get.
Another option would be to just use the original Pimax foam and add another foam strip to the forehead area. There are lots of cheap 3rd party VR face gaskets available on Amazon that could be cut to fit for that purpose.

I used a strip of adhesive Velcro at the left and right edge of the mod to stick it to the headset. It felt pretty secure with just that.

It was designed for use with the vive deluxe audio strap, but should also work well with the original Pimax strap.

2020-11-07 Narrow Face version 2 released. Forehead area increased and curved. Eliminated cutout for top strap (not needed).
