FlashForge Dreamer Long Filament Spool Holder

This is a replacement spool holder attachment for the FlashForge Dreamer printer. It allows you to use 3D printer filament spools that are wider, giving you more options for using spools inside the printer.

The new spool holder is 8 mm longer than the original. The spool rod is the same diameter as the original. The handle and spool stop end are also the same diameter as the original, but with an improved handle. The handle length is also the same. Only the spool rod is extended.

When inside the Dreamer the new spool holder has 1.5-2 mm of spaced between it's handle and the build plate. It's about as long as it can be.

With this new spool holder I can now use the following brands of filament inside the Dreamer (they didn't fit using the original spool holder):

• MG Chemicals 0.25 kg spools (58 mm wide)

• Filamex 0.5 kg spools (56 mm wide)

I like having the filament rolls inside the printer because it keeps dust off of the filament and it feeds better.

I designed this model from scratch using the popular free Blender 3D CAD software. It's great for this kind of 3D modeling. This thing was exported to an STL file using Blender as well. I highly recommend learning how to use Blender to design 3D objects for printing. It's free and very powerful, and directly supports importing and exporting STL files.
