This is (another) case for the DYO dust sensor of https://luftdaten.info/.
It fits the following components
- NodeMCU v3
- SDS011
- BME280
- DC/DC Converter (DC-DC Step Down Buck Converter Modul LM2596)
This case has the following features:
- NodeMCU antenna has some distance to other metal parts which should have a positive affect for reception
- usage of the DC/DC converter allows higher voltages ( I run mine from 12V) --> voltage drop of long / thin cables has less impact
- no pipe needed
- Stevenson screen for the temperature / humidity / pressure sensor
Additionally needed:
- Hot glue
- small piece of mosquito net
- superglue
- 2x DIN912 M3 30mm screw
- 2x DIN912 M3 50mm screw
Building instructions:
- Print out all parts - only the covers will need supports on buildplate
- I recommend using PTEG because it is more UV stable
- Glue in the SDS011 sensor using hot glue. Use a pen or somthing similar to keep the air in hole open (see picture)
- use hot glue to glue in the other components (after wiring them correctly)
- use super glue for fixing the mosquito to the air duct covers
- close the casing and screw it (not to hard!)
- install the temperature sensor (close the remaining hole with hot glue as well)
- cover the temperature sensor with the Stephenson screen and glue in the base plate
- install all other air covers and fix them with (hot) glue
Other information
- The holes in the bottom are intentional - it is not possible to seal a case against pressure changes and condense water without a membrane. --> Better let water drip out. For that at least 3mm holes are needed.
