Description

Congratulations, Kawaii Octopus! You did it! :D Made this a couple years ago for a friend who was graduating. :) I wanted to give something cute that can hold stuff. I remixed the octopus container top to become a grad cap that can unscrew, and I put some folded paper stars and little things inside. I made the tassel with some threads (yellow and blue were the colors from the school my friend went to). * The octopus body needs supports (for the bottom and the tentacles). * The grad cap is printed without supports. * The grad cap pin (whole) needs to be printed with supports, and a brim or raft is recommended. * To print the pin without supports, I included files that separated the step and top. I included a pin that has space (longer stem) to add a tassel, and a pin without the space. Post-print: * I sanded down the octopus to smooth out the body and tentacles. If you want to sand it, I recommend printing it with 3-4 perimeters; this is to ensure you won't start sanding into the infill. * I sanded down the stem a tiny bit to make it sit snug on top of the tassel. * I recommend gluing the pin to the cap to make sure it doesn't fall off. I thought about painting it, but decided to leave it unpainted. You can give this to someone who is graduating, and add something special inside if you want. :) Happy graduation!
