Description
This is a small set of OpenLOCK / OpenForge tiles which can be used to build pyramids.
There are 4 items in the set;
To make the top of the pyramid, you use 4 corners with the capstone on top. The next layer down adds an R or two E edge pieces to each side, with the lugs on top of the edge pieces working to locate the layers into place. The capstone should be printed with supports to the baseplate; the corners and edge pieces will print without supports.
The inside of each piece has an internal pyramid wall sculpted onto it; these will match with a pyramid wall and floor set I'm currently working on designing, enabling you to create internal chambers to be used in games of Dungeons & Dragons etc. Having the wall integral in this way means it'll work with the OpenForge system as well as OpenLOCK.
This set represents a newly completed pyramid with polished limestone casing stones (the pyramids must have looked incredible when they were first built, before the casing stones were all stolen to make other buildings !) I'm currently test printing the next two sets, one with worn casing stones, the other with exposed core stones as we see the pyramids today. Being a bit of an obsessive, I've made sure that the size of stones shown matches reasonably closely to what is known of the original ones used on the Great Pyramid, reduced to 28mm scale.
