Description
to make it less confusing, I just uploaded canCrusherV26.scad, and the 2 library files rack_and_pinion and simplethreads and regenerated all of the STL files for the different parts, and labelled them all as V26.
For my slicer I use simplify3d. It does report some small problems on the threads for the arms but this is in the library so I am not sure how to fix it. I had no problems printing it with those minor errors.
I will repeat: there is a lot of force required to crush a can, particularly in the bottom piece. I recommend 50% infill and 3,4 or 5 outer layers. Each peice will take a long time to print as in many hours. It was designed to fit on a flashforge creator pro, which is not a small print bed, but it is much smaller than some of the newer printers. The shorter handles were included so that it might fit on a smaller print bed. The orientation of the parts makes a big difference, and supports are needed.
The openscad source file was included so that people could make minor mods to fit a different print bed.
==================
I just updated a slightly upgraded version.
Well it was time to revisit one of my most popular 3D print creations!
This addresses a few concerns expressed by Thingiverse readers in the comments.
I kept all of the teeth on the gears because I think they look cool
I had a lot of trouble getting the threads to line up on the handle, so I am not sure if this is printer dependent or not. Please check it out.
