#Customizable License Plate Frame
##Substantial REMIX of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:52757
Improvements:
- This allows use of any font installed at any installed size.
- Added ability to have recessed or raised text at any desired depth or height.
- Horizontal text across the top and bottom as well as vertical text along the sides.
- Added ability to add OpenSCAD compatible symbols near the screw holes.
- Added dovetails/tenons and mortises when printing in split mode so that plate holds together without glue or while glueing.
- Provided offset dialogs to help adjust centering of text to allow better center and minimally split letters
- Added raised text only (no frame) for dual filament printing
Requirements:
- OpenSCAD library: text_on_OpenSCAD
- DejaVu-Sans Condensed TrueTypeFont: needed for the symbol drop down menu
- https://dejavu-fonts.github.io/
- you will need this either in your system library or modify the .scad file to include a "use < path/file.ttf>" like command
- not all fonts support all symbols with vector graphs. You're definitely going to want to play around a bit if you try to get "fancy"
Files:
- License_Plate_Frame_v4.scad : OpenSCAD
- License_Plate_Frame_Texas.stl : Examples of customized frame
Notes:
- To have no text in a particular area, leave text blank or adjust the text depth to be inside the frame. (Blank is better)
- Check OpenSCAD > Help > Fonts List to make sure your favorite fonts
##UPDATES:
- Version 4 : Fixes a extraneous object accidentally left in the SCAD file as well as preventing errors when there is no bottom and not top message.
- Version 5 is coming! Will fix incompatibility with new OpenSCAD version that switched libraries to regular_shapes.scad .
