Miscellaneous Previous Design

I know this is a weird upload.

As new Autodesk's Fusion 360's personal license cut in building larger projects, it also act as a revision and archive to my previous work as reference for subsequent work.

If anyone find anything useful in the collection, just take it and print/improve on it, I would also love to see some results that you guys would have.

I always knew that one day this would come. Just to be clear I'm not in anyway having negative feeling towards Autodesk for the move, as they need to keep the paycheck going for extremely talented and hardworking engineers. However if the parts are to shared for people to potentially use in assembly, I do not think everyone who's building these small project now and then can justify paying for the subscription. Although I'm privileged enough to be a student. I do believe that in order to be able to share the project for more people to potentially collaborate with, I will no longer use F360 as primary platform. And will switch to the harder learning curve tools like FreeCAD, this might take some time.

These are old projects so I no longer have the artifacts, but I do think it's better to put some screencaps here to at least show what's in the collection. Will do that when I have some time. I'll also make up the stl exports later.

DIYToyTrain

SliderWCabornStick

• A slider that can slide 2 potentiometers and a microswitch (for multi-model input, a part of this installation: https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3294109.3295649)

HandleOfLightSaber

• Handle of light saber with acrylic tube (Unfinished, can have electronics inside)

CabornFiberStickBuildingBlock

• Connector for building prototype using 2x2mm caborn fibre stick (square)

ThreeNeoPixelClip

• A clip that can hold 3 neopixels (with PCB extension), good for small alarm/traffic light projects

LaserDiodeMount

• Mount for cheap laser diode (those that have copper shell)

NTPClock

• A clock that uses ESP8266, need a 24 pixel and a 12 pixel. I don't have the program, but it's not that hard :)

ThreeWayNeopixel

• A guide where you can stick neopixel onto 3 sides to make it omni light, Note it's built for 3535 SK6812 strips, NOT the traditional 5050 WS2812/SK6812

YG2900Mount

• As title, built for demo purpose, probably not that useful

TinkerboardMount

• A tinkerboard monitor mount, it mounts a tinkerboard onto a monitor, has heatsink, fan installation guide. As it's hard coded, it wouldn't be that useful other than a design reference

NodeMCU12EDocking

• A box for NodeMCU-12E extension board (Servo plug style, has extra 5V from outside to prevent from diode burn, but not that intuitive to use), To fabricate the PCB, please goto: https://bitbucket.org/victorzzt/nodemcu-v3-docking-board/src/master/release/ ,source files is in Eagle (Might need to change to other free tools and remake soon too, sucks to be poor :P) Also thanks to Hongkong Maker Faire and Assist Prof. Clifford Choy

Memo 2025: Credit to Autodesk, I was wrong. The personal license lets you archive your file to not count towards file limit, so if work project by project it's still a good free choice of amateur CAD. FreeCAD now is 1.0, seems it can do something that Fusion can't but don't have some option that Fusion has, it's not a simple one is superior or inferior to the other situation. I think eventually I will need to transition as I'm only doing this as hobby, but for now I'll use both.
