Quest 2 DAS Adaptor (Franken Quest)

Adaptor to make Vive Deluxe Audio Strap (DAS) compatible with Quest 2. These snap on securely on to the new mount, and can removed quickly if needed.

The DAS connector is held with overhangs, which is much more secure and less prone to breaking compared to 'mushroom peg' design.

Comes with a choice of velcro loop adaptors. Small fits the DAS velcro that came with the strap, while Large is wide enough for any other velcro sizes.

Install guide

• Remove the Quest 2 straps following this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PejiYjR7_44&feature=youtu.be&t=110
• Snap the DAS onto the adaptor (pushing the round front section in first like in the picture).
• Snap the adaptor onto Quest 2.
• Use the velcro loop to attach the head strap to the headset.

License

The files are released under Creative Common Non-Commercial. We want the community to freely print the adaptor for personal use, but you cannot sell 3d prints of these files or their derivatives.

Print guide

No support or raft needed (if your printer can handle 70% overhangs). Tested with both PLA and PETG.

The fit needs to be pretty exact, so it's recommended to print one of the models as a test fit. You may need to adjust your printer's scale by +/- 1-2%. If your printer is calibrated in XYZ then you won't have any problems. Also beware of elephant foot if your first layer is too low (0.2mm elephant foot compensation in prusaslicer works perfectly).
