Description

The push to lock / latch on the Synology drive caddy / tray is broken and this is my 1st attempt to fix it. Although it needs some clean up after done printing, amazingly it does work! Also you can contact Synology (even out of warranty) and they "might" send a replacement tray within a few days if you are lucky. This fix will reduce the unnecessary plastic waste in the landfill.

Needless to say, this thing is really tiny (~15mm in length) and a difficult piece to print, so make sure your bed adhesion is good. The print time for 0.08mm/layer, 40mm/s is about a minute, so go slow and make sure it has enough cooling time between the layers.

[Update] I contacted the Synology for tray replacement again on my other unit and it was not so lucky. This time, they refused to support the out of warranty unit and asked me to go to the newegg to purchase one. Hence I updated the description to say you "might" ... if you are lucky.

The printed PLA one works for about less than 2 years and broke in half. I just swapped with the other one that I printed 2 years ago and maybe it will also work for 2 more years.
